Anyone knows where i can get lots of nice-sounding jazz progressions? Those that u would wanna play when u test a new guitar!
Any website or posting right here will do fine...

There's a great little book called "Understanding Chord Progressions for Guitar". I highly recommend it. Great little book for getting all your jazz chops together.
It's only about $6

If you really want to delve, try Ted Greene's Chord Chemistry. (now available pretty much anywhere, unlike when I was trying to find it in the early 80s!)
If that's not enough, try Mick Goodrick's Almanac Of Voice Leading. About 10 lifetimes of material in there, although it's all very theoretical -- the player is left to figure out how to apply it to real situations. Tough stuff, but great for developing a deep understanding of how to get from one chord to another.

Google "Chord Chemistry" and you'll have a bunch of choices... amazon.com being one.
For Mick Goodrick's books, go to www.mrgoodchord.com (http://www.mrgoodchord.com)

i like to play this when i try out a guitar's ability to do jazzy comping ... play it with thumb and fingers if you can ... thumb the root notes on the downbeats and three-finger claw the triads on the upbeat (SWING THOSE EIGHTHS !!)
i look for roundness without mud in the root notes .. and definition, yet warm blending on the triad notes ...
hope this helps
cheers

Very cool. I just worked my way through. I'm not good at reading tab and was a little confused by some of the chord nomenclature. The upper line is yours and the lower line is mine. It's all good and was lots of fun to explore. :)
Thanks.

glad you liked and were able to work through it .. yeah, the nomenclature thing is something i wish was more standard .. s'all good though, works out in the end :D
by the way, peanut butter is probably one of the ten most beautiful guitars i've ever seen ... where in maryland does she live? maybe when my new McRio Rose shows up, we can get together and jam :D

Thanks for the kind words. We're not far from WMC, in Montgomery county. We should get together sometime.
I also jam with some of the Baltimore BAM members on a regular basis. Maryland is home to lots of PRS owners.

Does PRS sell stuff straight from the shop/factory?
Does PRS sell stuff straight from the shop/factory?You can buy PRS stuff (accessories not guitars) from the shop at the factory or you can buy online from the PRS Website, but it's probably cheaper to get these same items from a dealer, as PRS sells them at list price.

Ok cool, so has anyone here gone to the factory and checked it out? I would love to go see it.
On a sidenote, Jo, your whale blue Cu22 is one of the most gorgeous Customs that I have ever seen.
