Here is a short clip of me noodling over a jam track, wrong notes and all with the Modern Eagle into a PODxt.
I'm really digging the PODxt and it's new firmware. I had one when it first came out, but I think it's finally mature. I will say that I bought the "Metal Shop" model pack and the clip is using the Deizel VH-4 Patch.
There are a ton of useful tones in this thing now! Anyone else bought a model pack?

Short clip!
Nice tone. Lots of sustain without gobs of gain, which is very cool. I was never a huge fan of the 90's super-saturated lead tones. How does it sound doing, say, chunky metal rhythm stuff?

It was short! I had been playing for about 5 hours and it took my last ounce of strength to muster out those notes! I guess that's why the bends were flat at the end :p
Anyways, it does chunky rather well. I'll put something together for you tomorrow and add it to this thread.

Cool! Thanks - I'll check back.

All the stuff in the model and FX packs are aready in my Vetta( I think so anyway)
Is the VH 4 patch channel 4 or 3? The Vetta has both and the Herbert too.

POD XT.... :dude:
I use mine for everything from jamming to a direct box when recording.
I do have the Classic Model Pack. I got it free, though... Line 6 sent me a link to fill out some questions about my experiences and uses of Guitar Port and Guitar POrt Online... and my reward was the model pack. It has some really nice old Fender models.
Peace,

How does it sound doing, say, chunky metal rhythm stuff? Here is a "one take" heavy clip I did about 9:00 this morning with the ME and the PODxt. Hopefully it is chunky enough! :D I tried to mix it up with palm mutes, harmonics, and sustained chords. I think it can sound pretty mean. You can tell right off the bat that it is not a McCarty, it's a lot tighter.
I guess I should say that this track is not layered it is one guitar part. I think the chords at :46 sound really full and layered.
Chain:
ME (Bridge PuP dimed)=>PODxt (Uberschall model w/mesa treadplate 4x12; sm57 off axis) => Digi002R. Slight reverb added in Protools (medium room 30% mix).

I liked your tune, it's just short.

Chunky indeed!!
Your pinch harmonics are killer, Phil. I wonder if I should get some ME pups for my mccarty... :)

Very nice Phil.
I do admit that the title of this thread had me scared for a little bit at first.

Phil,
Awesome, you can tell it's an ME....it's just go that thickness to it. Sweet.
