i plug it into the USB port and nothing happens it doesn't even turn on

Sorry that I don't have the answer for you, but if you go to www.tascam.com (http://www.tascam.com) and then to "contact us" you will have a phone number for tech support. I was having a connectivity issue between my new Tascam 1884 control surface and my computer/Cubase. The tech rep. was able to get me up and running in minutes. Unfortunately it's a toll call, no 800 number, but it got me up and running. Good luck!

Are you plugging it into a USB jack that is attched to your motherboard or to an external usb bridge?? I am pretty sure it has to be connected direct adn wont work through one of those extended hubs. Does any other usb device work in the same port?

The US122 definitely prefers to be connected to a primary port. I don't even think it will work on an unpowered hub. I'm having different issues with mine, and i think ima return it tomorrow... (latency :( )

I have to ask (and sorry for the late post):
Are you running XP Media Center, by any chance?
While XP is supported, Media Center is not. I bought a US-122 and read that in the readme file. It wasn't on the box. I tried to use it, and sure enough, the US-122 didn't work on my system. It went back to the dealer. Luckily I bought it from the local dealer and not from a place like GC where, because of the microphone bundled with the kit, they would have refused stating that microphones are non-returnable.
