I just posted this in another thread and thought I'd drop it here too if that's ok.

It was recorded nearly two years ago in January 2003 with my friend Derek Manas who is a really great songwriter. He also happens to be one of the top liver transplant surgeons in the UK, hence not enough time to gig this stuff :(.

He played his Martin acoustic, not sure what model it is but I know it was very expensive. I played my '98 McCarty Archtop through a 30 watt Marshall acoustic combo, and I only played the solos.
I still love the warm tone I had, it turned out well but I wish I'd planned the solo. It wasn't a song we were supposed to record but we had some spare time, it was first take and I'm really pleased with it but it would've been cool to make it a bit more jazzy sounding.

Anyway, that's enough yapping ........enjoy :D.

I dig!! Very nice work! Apreggios rock! (or do they "jazz"?)

Reminds me a bit of some Elvis Costello!

Peace,
Aldwyn

I loved it.

Vocals are first rate and a great tone for both guitars.

Try and get him to find the time and do some more.:dude:

Just listened to it again Ainsley. Still great singing and playing. As Andy suggests, get the album done

Thanks for the nice comments guys.
I'd love to gig this stuff but we've had no luck finding a drummer and bass player and Derek is the most disorganised bloke you've ever met, typical surgeon .
Since I changed jobs I've lost touch with Derek and without someone pushing him he'll just give up,he's the biggest moaner I've ever met.

As for an album, we demoed a few tracks and the engineer loved Dereks style and writing and said if he paid for the basic costs of the recordings he would promote it on his local label. Derek arsed about too much and nothing was ever done ........shame :(.
