This was recorded back in '93 when we were doing a demo for my band "Basic Face Removal". The soundman asked if he could use one of our tunes to remix for his band "Red Ash" which was a recording project he had, we agreed and then forgot about it.

Anyway, before we got to finishing our recording our drummer/singer was having troubles with his wife and left the band. About a year or two later he rang me after going into town to buy some CDs, he had come across a compilation CD called "Noisey B*****ds" and low and behold there was our track.

Listed as "Red Ash featuring Basic Face Removal". He'd made up his own lyrics and bunged some samples all over it and called it "Pickin' Up Metal". Originally it had been called "Shallow Waters". It did make us grin to hear what he had done and we wished him well with it.

I've just got hold of my very own copy and thought I'd share it with you.

Andy

hope you got paid for it. Backing is great but the stuff on top is aweful, definitely not to my taste. Had to play The Trooper and War Pigs to get over it:)

Hey a fellow Sabb' fan! Interesting rhythm. How did you manage to keep it going for so long????? Good harmonics too.
