There's also a downloadable working demo, I d/l'd it last night but haven't installed it yet. The only problem is it makes you d/l the whole Guitar Port software as well. Shame you just can't d/l it as an add on.

$100.- is a little heavy. I am quite happy recording with WabeLab so far.

aahhhh. Thanks.

That's not what my radar was tuned to. I'm looking for a physical package product release. I don't have a Guitar Port or Pod to add SW to.
Looks like it has in fact arrived if you buy a GP or POD separate.

OK, I see...
But where do you see the price? I can just go ahead and download it... What's up? At what point does it make you pay?

From what I've read, you can jam along with the demo but won't be able to record or mix. Buy the 'key', type it in, and unlock foll capability including record, mix and multi drums. Still additional drums can be bought for extra.
This thread from the Line 6 Forum covers a lot of questions asked here.

I was confused by 'Riff Tracker' vs 'Riffworks'. Apparently 'Riff Tracker' is kind of the bundle/concept name and 'Riffworks' is the specific new software.

Thanks for the heads-up. :D

I downloaded, installed and updated everything available (from the USB drive to the firmware and Rifftracker!!). Now I need to play with the new amp on the PodXt and Rifftracker...

I am pretty happy with the Ableton Live version that came with my M-Audio USB interface. It is simple enough for me to use so we'll see if Rifftracker is worth the 99$US. I am curious about the guitar oriented blah-blah they give about this tool...

Pierre.

Oh my God!! I just checked the sounds on my Pod and I really don't like what I heard!! It was sounding wayyyy better BEFORE I upgraded the Flash memory!!

Did I do something wrong?? The upgrade went smooth...

I am puzzled.

If you know how to solve this, let me know.

I just posted a panic thread on the Line6 forum....

Pierre.

PS: I am so mad that I didn't even try (yet) Rifftracker...

Don't know what's wrong with your POD Pierre, but I hope you figure it out.

I downloaded and installed RiffTracker. Gave it a quick spin. Real quick...

Seems like a cool, very GuitarPoirt-ish interface with a lot of stuff. But from what I can see, it's more a toy than anything else. It's not going to replace my Guitar Tracks Pro for recording. Maybe if I spent more time with it I'd find more stuff to like, but as of now, I have no intention of spending $100 on it.

It seems that when you do an upgrade on a POD to go from 1.05 to 2.01 like I did, you basically have to go through your custom patches because they changed a couple of amps and cabs and this screws all your sounds.

The good thing is that you can easily roll-back to the old version and get your sounds back! :)

But if you want to enjoy the new amps model then you HAVE to move on and start again from the standard patches they deliver. It is kind of surprising of Line6 tu use this kind of strategy. I did not spend days fine-tuning the patches I modified but it is nevertheless pain to do it again. I wish the upgrade path was less rocky! :(
