After seeing a couple of guys here choosing band names I wondered what are the best band names you've ever seen.

Mine go to:

1. The Dead Greatful.
2. Far Canal.

I'm sure there's more.:D

Some local bands have some real humdinger names:

Nasal Discharge

The Hershey Squirts

The Pissed-off Rednecks

Thought those were catchy and funny.

There was a late 70's -early 80's San Deigo punk band called Johnny Coathanger and the Abortions.

I've always liked "Free Beer". Put that up on the Marquee, and you'll sell out every night!

Or "Beatles Reunion"

Kane

Since my band was a bunch of old-ish guys, we were thinking of calling ourselves "The Incontinentals".

I always dug The Swollen Monkeys (the descriptive subtitle in their ads- "German Mexican Jazz" - didn't hurt any).

Bad Brains is a killer, too.

Camarosmith I wish I had thought of that one. Those guys rock, too!

Somebody mentioned Hostile Amish. They used to play around Cleveland all the time when I was growing up. Great punk band. In addition to the band they would have two or three guys onstage with butter churners.

A former once recieved notice in a NYC rag just because of our name - Motley Kristofferson. (It didn't help the turnout much, IIRC).
