Hi guys :)

I've been modding my Ibanez RT650 lately, the things I didn't like were the plain ugly maple veneer top (I might put on a new one later on). I steamed the old veneer top off to show the natural alder, and I oiled the alder afterwards. The rest of the finishing (including the binding) I left intact. Furthermore I changed the singlelocking Gotoh bridge (which I hated) to a golden Gotoh stoptail (PGM-style ). I also changed the chrome Gotoh tuners to golden Gotoh's. Furthermore I put pickup-covers on all pups (I don't if I'll keep them though)... I love the Viper neck, so I decided to change everything around it that I didn't like

It originally looked like this:

I think the changes were for the better (I already have a few lo-pro-equipped guitars), what do you guys think? I already know that the pu-covers look cheap and should be removed :o

I liked it better the way it was :(
If you've had to change so much, why did you buy it ?

I bought the guitar in order to use it as a hobby-guitar, it got it for almost free (that always helps :) ). If things go wrong with this one it's not the end of the world, with some of my other guitars I don't want to know how I would react ;)

This guitar is prone to more modding from my side, the first thing that is going to happen is the removal of the pup-covers. I am really considering a new maple top.

I really liked the alder sound and the playability. I hated the ugly top and the bridge, so I got rid of them. Besides that, modding is great fun!
