I'm after a cheaper, back-up guitar, and these Korina SEs sure look nice.
My question is--- are they?
Do the tuners lock? Can 'real' PRS Tuners be upgraded without extra drill holes?
Are the pickups good, or decent?

The store I work at is getting some in this week. I'm really interested in checking-out the Korina Singlecut, as I owned one of the Korina McCarty Soapbars and it rekindled my love affair with the sound of Korina. My PRS guy tells me this is the same wood they use in the US guitars, so they might be true killers.
I've owned a few SEs, which I use as a platform for major modifications. The complaint about the tuners is usually solved by dealing with the real problem which is the nut. Get a real PRS US or a Black Tusq XL and have it professionally installed as part of a setup. The pickups are fine, but take to upgrading really well. The woodwork/fretwork/finish on these makes it worth upgrading them. The Tonepros locking bridge studs also really help these guitars.
Considering you also get one of the best gigbags in the biz, I strongly feel these are the best bargains in a pro-level guitar out there.-Eric

my Korina SE Rocks!
the nut needs minor attention(just had to open the slots a bit) other than that i think they are great!! being a stoptail... i don't feel the need for locking tuners, but like mentioned above... nut needs minor attention to avoid tuning issues. the only change i made to mine so far is a fresh set of strings and some amber lamshades!!! i think the pickups sound good enough to leave in there, however being the tinkerer i am.... i do have another guitar with a SD alnico pro 2 in the neck and Custom Custom in the bridge... that are currently My favorite set of pickups and should work nicely in the all Korina SE
again just MHO,
YMMV
