Driskill #77-top

Joe just sent me this picture of my top after using photoshop to get the best usage of the quilt. The two small knots will be under the trem so no worries there. The top should be sanded very soon as its going into the spray booth with the next batch to receive its glorious blue color.

I'd like to put a shout out to Joe for those of you who are riding the fence on which boutique guitar maker they want to go with. Joe has kept me informed/updated throughout the entire process. This has been the most exciting and comfortable experience and Joe's kindness and thoughfullness will keep me coming back for more. I know we all talk about the guitars, but Joe as a person, far exceeds his product.

GavinJoe is a great guy but the end product is hard to beat...;)

I'm still 50/50 for now...I don't know if it will really matter which builder I choose because finances keep getting the better of me...a 12 month wait wouldn't be a bad thing for me.

I look at the reflection in my top and see an ugly, middle-aged guy. So, I asked the reflection, "who's the fairest of them all" and it only answers "EADGBE".

A MONKEY!!!!! Please say it isn't so. I don't want to be know as the guy with the monkey guitar. I have visions of Mike Myers on SNL doing the Spockets skit. "I am Deiter, touch my monkey!!!!!" Please, please, please, anything but a monkey.:( I don't want to be forced to play Kraftwork cover tunes ("now its time we dance").

I actually see a bulls head with a ring in the nose.
