What is your favorite Christmas Movie?
Christmas Vacation is my all-time favorite movie, PERIOD, END OF STORY! :dude:
Randy Quaid was robbed! Shoulda won an Oscar!
Do you really think Clark Gable or John Wayne could have pulled off "$hitter's full?"
No way! I get all teary-eyed just thinkin' about that line.

James, you're sensitive side is showing through. :D
But, it's OK because I'm talking to Markie on the phone as I'm typing this, and he say's that the Wizard of Oz is his all-time favorite movie. (Ok, true confession and guilty pleasure time: I like both of those movies, too.)
Markie also says he has seen it about 300 times and the flying monkeys still scare the wazooper out of him. He said "if they ever come to my house, they are getting spanked!!!" :dude:

My favorite movie of all time is "It's A Wonderful Life".
I own it and watch it every year right after Thanksgiving. There are many messages in the movie, but the one clear messages is that we all can make a difference. I can identify with George Bailey throughout the movie and at the end I am also glad to be alive and to make a positive difference in my business and the lives of others each day.
Merry Christmas,

Very favorite is A Christmas Story - reminds me of my childhood...no that I'm from the era in the movie, but that I'm the exact same age as Peter Billingsly (on an iPod typing - might have his name wrong) and it reminds me of the happy Christmases I remember as a kid at home!
Elf is my other favorite!

What, no Die Hard?
Actually, they had an argument on ESPN about whether it qualified as a Christmas movie or not.

"Don't you see what a wonderful gift you've been given, George? Because you haven't been born, nobody knows what wonderful things you've done with your life and how you've touched so many lives...."
"Where's is she, Clarence? Where's Mary??"
"I'm not supposed to tell, George!"
"Where is she, Clarence!? Where is she?!"
"You're not going to like it, George, she never married, she's an old maid.
"Where is she!!?"
"She's just closing up the library!!"....
"Back off, Bert, or I'll..."
"What in Sam Hill are you yellin' for, George?"
"What am I...? What? Do you know me, Bert? Do you know me?"
"Sure I do! Hey, your lips bleedin', George..."
"Hey, my lips bleedin'! What do you know about that! What do you... Wait...Zusu's petals... Zusu's....there they are!! There they are!!! What do you know!! Merry Christmas, Bert!! Merry Christmas!!!!"
"A toast! To my brother, George. The richest man in town!!"
"What's that?"
"Just something I got from a good friend of mine." :):)

I did a nice thing today. A older woman was walking out of the grocery store parking lot when a car was trying to sneak past the pedestrians. The car jumped a curb, and the driver spun her wheels trying to get over the curb.
The older woman, walking ahead of me, stopped at the car next to mine. I said, " I'm happy you weren't hurt by that car. She could have lost control and hit somebody."
The woman said, "Yes, she really woke me up!"
Before leaving, I said, "Your children, ma'm, their gift this holiday is you..."
We both cried and parted company....;)

I'm a "Miracle on 34th St." ORIGINAL version sucker. I could watch that
movie over and over again. I hated the remake. Never got into "It's a
Wonderful Life". Definitely like "A Christmas Story", but 34th St. still
warms my heart more as it's got more of a connection to seeing it in
my youth, when the whole Santa thing was still strong in me. I was 20
when Christmas Story came out.

I got the latest release of "Its a wonderful life" on DVD for christmas, it has the colour version so it will be interesting to see it in that mode. I hope they have improved the audio too as the VHS I have is the original optical track.

Just watched the colour version of Its a wonderful life and it is superb, they have done the colour in two strip technicolour which is correct for the time and it looks great. The sound track is a lot better too with none of the horrible optical breathing that was on my VHS copy.
Two real big things I experienced for the first time is the street scene at the begining has golden bells hanging on the trees, the second is that the taxi driver and the policeman are called Bert and Ernie. Now I guess that Mr Henson tips a tribute to this in sesame st and I never picked up on it before.

I am fine thanks Graham, although I have had to close the pub and get into media again, I am also looking after my stepson as he is quite ill.
The colour version is well worth the money and I think it was actually shot in colour on two strip technocolour as it doesnt look like re-grade paint it over job.
Most old movies were shot this way but as master print costs were huge to feed all the cinemas they were distributed in black and white and they were the only prints done.
They have done a great job either way and it is now squeaky clean and you can see so much more detail, I picked up on several things this week that I have just not seen before, it is also interesting for me as a videographer to see the effects of the different lenses and the sound track is restored too.
Bye for now and best wishes.

I'm surprised Home Alone hasn't been mentioned - I'm sure that when they were younger my kids would have voted for that as their favorite Christmas movie!
