I am now a certified State of NJ EMT-B. Finally decided to take the course in August, and received my certification 2 days ago.

I already have a job with an EMS service, so this will be my new career. A gig that I have wanted for the past 12 years. I also volunteer with my township rescue squad, and I do believe that I have found my calling. I’ll get a good year or so of street time, then on to Paramedic school.

Way to go! I've been a paramedic for over 25 years and teach at our local college. I worked for a fire/ems based service here in Corpus Christi. What a fantastic career!:dude:

Congratulations, Tish!

I have a friend who is an EMT locally. He says it is difficult but rewarding work to bring a person to a hospital in either a sick, or wounded state then to be remembered by the recovered person later in thanks. You will have many experiences like this one. Safe journeys, Tish...:)
