Well - guys, don't ever do what I just did. An ex bandmate was asking me about our last show. And I told him how I felt, how it went; only problem - sent it to our manager instead.

Oops. Maybe a freudian slip? :o Oh well - nothing untrue in the email, but nothing there that the manager wanted to hear either.

anyone looking for a guitar player? :D

So guys - check that pesky address bar, before you hit send. (it looks so funny in the movies, when the fall guy does that. kinda worse in real life)

Dude, the manager works for YOU, not the other way around. Regardless of what he might WANT to hear, he NEEDS to hear the truth. You're fine.

no such luck - just cheap old Yahoo Mail.

but I have to look on the bright side - at least it wasn't something going to my wife by mistake. :D (I don't have $55 million to buy my wife off :o)

ouch. I have heard of the same thing, but in a lot worse context, like accidently sending the commanding officer an email meant for a buddy about how f-ed up the command is.....

sorry, man!

Can anyone explain why lead players are "primadonnas" or "egotistical" when the band is not getting along?

I think ego is pretty critical if you're a musician. I mean, geez. You can't let the id run the show, can you?

One day, I will have a band with FIVE GREAT lead players. I might even name it "Yes."

um, yup. pretty much what happened. except, it was only a band, so not a life changing thing. was a bit more candid than usual, cuz the friend was an ex-bandmate; you know - so he'd already been there, done that.

but yup - in the services, that could be VERY painful. 'specially if your bud was a lifer. he would only get bad evals for the rest of his career.

Once, I was. Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. (ok - I was the only one on guitar, but your point is valid.) Back then, the Entertainment magazines would do the usual annual article 'bout the "Year's Best Musicians." Everyone except me n the drummer were voted as best. Volatile would be one word to describe times together. ;)

But you know? - ego and prima donnahood is a lot easier to live with when everyone is as good as they think they are. :D

Hello,

If it was something that you eventually wanted him to hear I suppose it's not a bad way to tell someone something.

We had an email in work from the MD asking about Christmas working and would anyone be prepared to come in over the holiday period (We shut down totally at Christmas). One of the girls at work typed to her mate, "Oh yeah, shove a broom up my Ass and I will do the cleaning at the same time" unfortunately she pressed reply to all so everyone in the firm got it! Hope she is not going in for any promotions in the near future!!

Gotta love computers. Here I am speaking to a bunch of people living on the other side of the world. I can manage my band account, Car, all my appointments, our band gigs are all put into outlook to give the dozy bass player reminders, You can buy guitars, cars, and anything you can think of on the net. Christo you can even get a date. And you know what, I still missed our sodding wedding anniversary!! Cold night in the spare room that night I can tell you.

One thing Jon, at least its out in the open now, if it opens up a dialogue thats no bad thing eh? You would be welcome in my band anyday brother, might be a bit tricky getting home from the gigs though?

Lator Gator,

Spike

If its outlook you may be able to recall the message.

How does that work? Would it take an unread e-mail out of the receivers inbox?

Although that feature is in Outlook, it doesn't really work. Usually the person you sent the email to will get another email stating that you want to recall the email. If they click yes on it, then the email deletes. They still get a chance to read it.
