How can the BCS put TCU against BSU in the bowl game!? What is wrong with them? They are completely ruining everything these two teams achieved this season and not giving them opportunities to 'prove' themselves against better teams. I was never a "we need a college playoff" guy before, but I am now. Just ridiculous. And I don't even LIKE TCU but they deserved better than that.

These games have little to do with finding the best team in college football. Its about making the most money. What will get the most ratings. Doesn't matter what's fair. Sucks.

The stupid thing about it is they are both small-market teams, so the ratings are probably not going to be great anyway. They didn't even fill up the Poinsettia bowl last year, something like 37,000 people at the game. Dumb move, and unfair

The BCS doesn't make the matchups. The bowls choose in turn, subject to certain pre-set rules (big10 and pac10 to the rose bowl if possible, etc).

I agree it is not the ideal matchup. I would have loved to have seen either Boise or TCU against Florida or Cincy.

I guess the Fiesta liked the idea of having two unbeaten teams.
Also, I am not sure of the pick order, but I bet it was a choice between TCU and Iowa or TCU and Boise. I would rather have Boise.

You make a valid point there. Iowa is gonna get destroyed.

That is funny, can I quote you when the Hawkeyes dominate Georgia Tech?

The BCS are a bunch of cowards and only care about the money. They didn't put TCU or Boise against a BCS conference team because they were afraid that BCS team would/could lose, which makes them look bad. They decided it's not who is the best team, it's about how much which team can make them the most money, which is why I don't buy anything that could go to their bottom line. Without a playoff system, if you think about it, the whole season is meaningless. Why even play a regular season? They should just let teams practice and use whatever measures they think are valid (which team is the fastest, strongest, who's QB can throw the farthest, etc) and pick them to play a bowl game. Or better yet, do some polling and research to see which school's fans would support their team the best, travel to see them play this one game, book hotel rooms, eat in the local restaurants and then invite those schools. And to take it one step further, why don't they just hold an auction from amongst all the NCAA schools. Whichever the top 2 schools guarantee the most money through donations and fundraising, which they give to the BCS of course, they get to play for the championship. Stop hiding behind academic excuses and put it out there, "whomever can give us the most money will play for the championship". At least that way, even people not paying attention know what's up and can choose to participate or not. And the thing that I don't understand is that they don't see how much more money they could make if they went to a playoff system. Have they ever heard of March Madness with basketball? Do they not see how much money is made with that model? Do they not realize how much gambling takes place then? They could make WAY more compared to now and are leaving money on the table. I'll just throw my arms in the air now.

That's my biggest gripe with college football: the BCS rankings and how they resolve the end of the season. Why can't they have a tournament and call one game the Sugar Bowl, one the Rose Bowl, etc?

I completely don't understand their rating systems and how they put teams together. Last year they sent Hawaii to the Sugar bowl against Georgia, a far superior team in all respects, and the outcome wasn't even ever in question.

The Money angle seems more important. And now so many "bowls" both major, and seemingly minor, for this and that. I'm at a loss at it and it has really destroyed my interest in College Football.
