As the holiday season picks up, have you noticed that more people, at least at this time of year, are doing their research online, with their own computer browsers?

Then if unable to find the item they want online, or if shipping and state internet tax is more than the state tax and the cost of gas to pick up an item at a bricks and mortar store, they will shop at a retail outlet?

I say this because we all need to understand that the role the internet plays regarding retail sales this year is still increasing, and after the Thanksgiving holiday when people will be stuffing their cheeks with food, it is never known if stability in a financial market takes place because of sales generated until the holiday sales season is over.

The seasonal dress your wife will want. The toys for your kids and you. The gifts for family and friends.

While I don't celebrate the holidays for personal and religious reasons, I do believe that giving to others is something we should practice on a daily basis, cheerfully, not begrudgingly or out of compulsion.

There are many ways people can donate their resources. If you have time, materials, or are able to supply effort needed to accomplish a project, this is all a part of giving to others.

While many of us may be thinking of going out and buying gifts for their immediate friends and family, please remember why we are all part of a larger family on this earth of ours. Your time and effort to assist others in need will go a long way to promote better feelings towards others in these times of financial trouble. While I find myself cutting back on expenditures this year, I find it still not too difficult to assist others who can't find support by themselves.

If any of you are able, I make this request and strongly suggest the role that you play this season will determine how people treat each other when they see each other. If one person can say, "Hey, someone did something nice for me today", then we all will feel fewer stresses, anxieties, and pains this year.

This is not wishful thinking, it is how compassion for fellow humans should flourish in today's world, even when others in this world may be cold, and uncaring.

What if the world were different? Your attitude can make a difference. :)
