Well Everyone,

My annual trip to Dallas has included a stop in Ft.Worth to visit Joe the last two years... and this trip was no exception.

Visit No. 3: No ice storm this year, just monsoons.... thank God the temps were up.

Joe has some nice wood ready to finish... amazing inlays and necks too. His stop has a few new toys too. The sander was NOT up when I visited but found out the next day when I called him, he'd rewired and had it going. So if your Driskill is close, you should have it soon.

Those unfinished but carved bodies and necks just smell GOOD!! Just fondling, ah, I mean handling the raw wood is a turn on. With my wife, Elaine along, that was NOT a problem. And she finally got to meet the voice on the other end of the line in Texas.

FYI, to help out, we took Joe to one of his favorite Mex restaurants and made sure he had enough good food (not fast food) for the evening. He also is getting some needed recreation.... he and his blue eyed Goddess were going to a party that evening. (Joe, party report?)

Joe also made some adjustments on No.71 which accompanied me this trip. We actually drove from Ormond Beach to DFW area. 2300 miles RT in 6 days. Never again.

But your Driskills are under way... I'm sure he's hot at it right now.

Bob,

I'm glad your trip to the Dallas/Fort Worth area was a good one! Joe's shop, from what I've seen pictures of and heard, is an awesome place to visit. I empathize with you on driving from Florida. I drove 1400 miles from Jacksonville when I was relocated to the Dallas metro area.

Sincerely,

Layne

Man, I'm about three hours from Dallas/FW.

I would KILL to swing by Joe's shop - but I wouldn't want to get in the way.

Joe - do you drink Shiner Bock? I'll bring a 12 pack by!!!

John,

I can't truely say I saw that neck but Joe has lots ready to go on the sander.

And if you get there, take him to lunch or dinner. Keeps him healthy so he can keep those Diablo's coming.
