View Full Version : Tony McManus
This guy has seven fingers on his right hand - although he claims there are only six
Amazing player and a gentleman.
I'm still in awe!

Loved his version of "What A Wonderful World" Thursday. And he was very gracious with tips and such at his clinic today. And he was pretty adamant about what you should do when you fly with a guitar. Some horrible stories he told...
What a spokesperson for the acoustic, though.

I thought that when Tony and Johnny sat down to play together that Tony was still in command of the performance. Johnny was quicker but Tony maintained his sound and dignity but just hanging and playing.
All weekend long his tone was incredible. And the guitars stood up to his alternate tunings. The number of different tunings he used was incredible. He constantly change and the guitar just stayed right with him.
I currently have a Taylor 814CE that I never considered replacing but after hearing the guitar he was playing I would consider an addition.
The real question is was he going directly from the guitar to the board in the seminars or was there a pre between the guitar and the board. I know when he was playing on the big stage he added a mic. Did anyone get more information on the setup? Also does anyone know the particular model he was playing?
Thanks

I asked him @ the acoustic guitar seminar if he was using a pre-amp and he told us he was going straight to the board. I believe he was referring to his setup in the acoustic/amp room. -Don't know what he used in the big tent.

On Thursday night, I told him that I knew there were a couple of really good and well-known players coming on stage directly after him, but that we'd just seen THE player of the night. I wasn't wrong! (and I enjoyed them all).
He was flat out amazing!
