Does the KL33 have the huge neck like a regular Santana?

Z's KL didn't seem as big as my ex Santana II's neck. It felt really good just like his Howie sig's neck does !!

If it helps, mine (KL33) feels pretty near identical to my Santana III.

According to the hang tag, it has the Santana neck. It does feel rounder than a wide fat. Pretty much like an R8 neck.

just for my knowledge, does a Santana III = a regular Santana? (as far as sound, etc?)

if so, will be happy to side by side my pair. if not - won't waste ur time.

Some say that's exactly what it is, others say there's a veerrrry slight difference. However, I seem to recall that the Korina Santana came with Mira p/ups, making it different than both. Still, I'd love to hear your A/B. Thanks!

Close enough. The III p/u is arguably a II with covers. Some say that's exactly what it is, others say there's a veerrrry slight difference. However, I seem to recall that the Korina Santana came with Mira p/ups, making it different than both.

you are right - the Korina Santana/KL33 has Mira pickups - so sounds completely different to me. I got a pair of McCartys to put in it, then the pickup deal came, so its in line for a pair of 57/08s. Will still do a critical A/B before sending it off; haven't played it much because I'm having a hard time bonding with the Mira p'ups.

Kinda surprised that your aren't bonding with the Mira pups. Since they are SC245's with the covers off I would think they should work well with the KL33. A fellow BaMmer has one on hold for evaluation tomorrow so we will put it through it's paces.

thanks for that bit of info (that they're 245s) - I've also heard that they're the same as a 57/08, except for the wire. Which makes me seriously wonder if I would love the 57/08s as much as I'm supposed to.

If I remember, I'll bring home a mic(rometer) and compare my III and the KL - see just how much difference there is.
