Well J. Hayes and Amy were nice enough to give me a new PRS guitar cable for my birthday when they were in town. I broke it out for a gig last night and put it to the test. I usually use Quantum cables as they are a good reliable cable for a decent price.
I set up and tuned prior to our 1st set and plugged the Quantum straight in....no tuner etc. During our break I re-tuned and switched to the PRS cable. Again straight in....no boxes.
The 1st thing I noticed was that the PRS cable wasn't winding up my leg.....They don't tangle!!! No shaking a leg to get free... 2nd thing and the most important thing was I could hear a difference. Cleans were clearer and chimey and the crunch was snottier. The bottom end was were I really could hear the difference. My H&K Switchblade 1X12 sounded huge.....like a 4X12. The night was a good one.....I went back to playing my 1-OFF 20th SC and really really liked what I heard. :dude::dude::dude:

I wonder what they cost...I saw them on their site a few days ago (didn't look for a price) and would like to try one out. I'll have to order one.

For more information on the cables. http://www.prscables.com/
The list prices are posted on the individual cable pages (guitar, mic, speaker).
The cables are also on Willcutt's site http://willcuttguitars.com/_catalog_41875/PRS_Cables

They appear to be in the same price range as Monster Cables. I wonder how they compare to one another?

The Quantum cables are better than the Monster's....I've done a side by side with them. The PRS IMHO is better....way better! I'm curious to see how they stand up to a side by side with Solid cables. I'm going to let "Turtle Dude" borrow mine to compare.

Wow, they are both "High-Definition" and "Professional". Two buzzwords for the price of one!

Well, you know, PRS isn't gonna let the cable be the weak link in their quad setup of end user + PRS guitar + PRS cable + PRS amp = tonal nirvana do you? JK folks!
Glad they gave everyone the confidence in being able to just grab off the shelf and KNOW that this is what I need(ed) all along. Cool.
Thanx for posting multi-SC.
Wonder if PRS has any sort of warranty on these. 90 Days? Is this cable a fragile cable or can it withstand a cymbal guilotine like drop? The rigors of the road.......glad I'm not having to do it but I really do enjoy checking out pics of you playing Todd. That's the way it's supposed to be........havin' fun! :dude:

Dunno whats the consensus here on Mogami Gold cables but how do you think they compare to PRS cables if you ever used Mogami's 02SC (or anyone else who had the opportunity to grab a PRS cable yet)? I'm torn between ordering a Mogami Gold 18' cable or a PRS 18' cable atm.

I'm curious about this as well. When I was at my local guitar dealer I mentioned to him about PRS cables. He didn't know about them yet.
I told him that I was using Monster cables. He said that he like Mogami better than the Monster.

I use Mogami Golds and I love them. Very clear and seems super transparent. Seems to do exactly what I want a cable to do which is reproduce the tone I'm getting from my hands and instrument with no color.
The PRS cable looks very similar in build to Mogamis, but most higher end cables start to have similar loks and features. Being that its stated that they are made by Van Damme, according to Lava Cable, they are considered an entry level high-end cable.

Looks like a nod in the right direction from what I'm hearing if the Mogami's are liked better than Monster and so are PRS cables. Might be around the same level.

What your looking for in a cable is exactly what I am looking for. Atm it doesn't look like I can go wrong with PRS or Mogami.
Thanks for the help guys I'll end this thread hi-jacking now ;).

Wonder how they'll hold up to the Evidence Lyric HGs? Can anyone post something up if you get a chance to AB them? Don't think I'll see the PRS cables here in Singapore anytime soon so I'd love to hear some opinions? Thanks..
