I got a 9.8lb LP Custom Black Beauty, it sounds great! I only play it sitting down though because it weighs so much. Would you move it along?

Does density do anything for the sound of a guitar? This sounds good but ways a schmitload!

I sold mt PRS SingleCut, for that very reason. Over 10 lbs. GREAT tone, maybe I'm shallow, but it was just to heavy.

I would say whatever you are not comfortable with. We forget that a guitar is a tool for expression, you should want to play it without compromise.

way too many toneful light guitars out there that if you are uncomfortable with the heavy guitar get rid of it and find one that fits you better. i play in my room mostly so a heavy guitar wouldnt bother me too much. plus im young and my back is doing ok at this point.

If you can't it in the air with one hand holding a A at the end of a number after a 2 hour set then it's too heavy.:dude:

But if a guitar is too heavy for you then perhaps you should get down the gym.:D

I sold my Lester because it was to heavy... that's when I discovered PRS. Awesome tone, great playability, but didn't weigh a ton like my Lester did!

Peace,
Aldwyn

I have 2 PRSs now, including my beautiful 513 with pics coming tonight! I do keep the LP around for the tone. I'm thinking about trying to trade it for a McCarty with #7s. I've got it in my head that I will love it!

about 7.5 lbs seems perfect for me. I too have a lester I never play - one of the reasons is the weight.
