View Full Version : Two hand tapping...
Hey folks,
I've been trying out a little tapping lately and have been finding it very hard. I seem to be OK tapping out melodies on one string bit as soon as I try and move accross the strings it all falls to pieces, especially when I'm moving upward from the bass to treble strings.
I'm pretty sure it's a matter of timing but I'm stuck...help!
Does anyone have any tips and/or any good websites that I could take a look at?
Thanks all,
San,
Paul Skidmore

Hey San,
Why not work on Midnight or Day At The Beach by Satriani, you can find the tab in powertab format & both are good examples of two handed tapping, thats what I started with. If you can record yourself too, then you'll really know how good your timing is ;)
Once you've got those two down try Flight of the bumblebee by Jennifer Batten..... :D

I can do a bit of tapping - perhaps I should try midnight too. I don't think I know the difference between Tab and 'powertab' though:confused: Pray tell!

Hey - thanks for that. Just before I download it, is the correct link for an xp platform located here?
http://www.power-tab.net/downloads.php
with the 'ptabe1.zip' link? Seems like I've completely missed out on something -hope so. You know the feeling though .. you read the sales pitch on the software - it can do this, it can do that; then you install it and :(

Yeah any of the links will do - the file is mirrored on various sites.
It's a great bit of software, you can't go wrong for free! :D

I saw her do that in person at a guitar clinic in my hometown. I'd been playing for about 8-9 months. Made me want to crap my pants.
On topic, Steve Vai has a tapping lesson somewhere on his site. I'll see if I can't find it...
