Anyone got one on here? Opinions?
I'm thinking of picking up 1 or 2 when Roger and I come over for our PRS factory trip next month.
I take it ipods are not discounted at all in stores over there?
thanks for any info!

my bro's gonna pick me up a regular ipod when he's in the states. there's only $50 difference between a mini (4gb) and a regular (15gb)
any info on places with good deals would be appreciated too. :)

FYI, the mini's are sold out out most places that carry them from what I have seen. The were immediately bought on release day.

I'd go for the extra $50 and the extra 11GB. The "standard" iPod may not be as hip or as tiny, but it's still a really small device.

Do any stores discount the regular ipods at all?
The regular ipods are certainly better value for money but the ipod mini is so much cooler!

Not that I have seen. They are all $299,$399, and $499. Instead of lowering the prices, Apple recently upgraded the capacity in all three price points.

I was quite impressed with what i saw, but I saw something of exceptional value after that. It's a small MP3 player that is about say 40mm x 20 x 8mm max! I could find out the details. It loads music from a USB port. If your set up to do this, it seems a great one for the replacement of my std CD player. I wouldn't be bothered about loosing the player if it went AWOL on holiday, but I tend to take a lot of CDs on holiday that are heavy and all add up to a tidy sum. You could go mountain biking or whatever your bag is with this on - jogging etc and it won't skip. i'm not up on it and there is no memory card as such, but I think it was along similar lines as a fixed memory card. Me mate didn't say what size it stores, but he did say about a thousand songs. You could quite literally fit the whole thing into a 10 x ciggie packet - including headphones. Runs on 1AAA I think it was about £60 maybe less (?)

I've heard they're great for copying tunes off CD's when you do it off a Mac, but there's some software issues downloading off PC. That's the one thing that has made me hesitant to get one. This is based on the reviews on Amazon. Anybody have any experience?

I use my iPod with a PC (Windows XP) and have had zero problems. I have not seen the mini yet, but the regular iPod is small enough to clip to your belt without noticing it. Great product!

Yes, like Carey I use mine with my PC and have zero problems. Once they went from Musicmatch Jukebox to iTunes as the interface, it was golden.

I'm a Mac guy, but several of my friends who use PCs and iPods have had no problems whatsoever.
