If this is not the right place to post, I apologize. Just point me in the right direction.

Im learning Santanas Europa. its going oK and I can do it pretty well except near the end.

That part is repeated from the 77th measure and basis for improv over last of song..
Its a bend from F to G (B string 18th fret), then 2 quick 1/16 notes on the A# (E string 18th fret), this repeats for 5 phrases in a measure (tempo = 80).

I have been trying to bend the F to G with the ring top of finger (3) and with the same finger on the (2nd joint of finger) lay it down to catch that A# on the E string below..

Seems like that is the only way to get it done fast. I tried using pinkie (4) on the E string but hard to get both fingers to fit in same fret space.

How would you attack this section? Or maybe you have an alternative way of playing it that sounds good?

Any thoughts appreciated.

First of all, because of the key you're in (Cm), the note on the E string is a Bb, and not an A#.

Secondly, use your pinky, get used to it. It takes practice. I learned all the upper fret stuff on a LP copy many moons ago, and that has a 24.75" fret scale and poor access due to the single cutaway, as comapred to an SG or Strat, and later, PRS.

And yes, you're in the wrong conference. There's one for playing and technique, the name escapes me now, but it's pretty obvious if you look around.

Best of luck with the pinky.
