Anyone have any good recommendations? I hate Kazaa because it installs so much spyware, and it's becoming more and more useless.
I wanna check out some new bands before I buy.
(Please note: I know some people take offense to this. I understand. But this isn't a place to trot out the same old arguments. I'm just looking for software recommendations. Thanks.)

Sure, there is a small monthly fee...but you also get full download capability for $9.95 a month. Like others, my time is too valuable to try and find songs online when it's not worth it, not to mention the hassle of constantly monitoring for spyware.

Once I'm fully employed and on cable, I plan on going with something like that. I'm basically looking for something I can cherry pick 4 or 5 songs from, based on articles I read, etc...

Just download any good "News Group" reader and install it. Configure it and then do a search for MP3's. Everything... including complete CD's is readily available....and free.
I use Napster. Only .99 cents a song
Rhapsody will work over dial up. I like it, and it's legal.

Is it true that if you download music from these pay sites that it can only be played on the machine that downloaded it? I've heard it can't be put onto disk without being converted to MP3 first because of copyright protection.
