View Full Version : EMG's and Teles ??????

I remember someone here saying they had a tele with EMG's...I am thinking about modding out my mexitele, and I'm loving the EMG;s on the VA...anyone with any experience on EMG's in a tele? It's a 3 pick tele, so I'd need a SA in the middle, I'm sure..also, what kind of silly routing has to be done for the battery? Does your tele still cluck....in terms of country stuff, chicken picking, etc...

That was me...mine has the TC system with the cermamic magnets...pretty clucky.The battery on mine fits in the control cavity really well without any mods/routing...quiet as a fly fart,too.

Any idea how to do this on a 3 pick up tele? Just get a SA for the middle?

If you put an SA in the middle,I'd wire it up to it's own on/off switch,and engage it when needed,so's it doesn't interfere with the neck/bridge sound.You could wire it to it's own volume pot,but then you'd probably have to rout a spot for the battery,'cause it probably won't fit in the control cavity iffin' you did that.

I have SA-SA-Tele Bridge model (forgot which one it is) in a Jonathon Rose/Warmoth Tele with the SPC and EXP modules wired to a 5-way.
Very nice, although it has that compressed EMG sound...

I think there's only one 9V under the pickguard. It doesn't get played much--I get lost in the vine fretboard inlay!
