Hi guys,
I'm posting this for Phil Bennett as he has no internet access at the moment.
I hope I can get this right for him :(

Anyway, he wants to put a #7 pup in his SingleCut Trem, this would replace the existing #6.
However Phil say there are two wires on the #6 one of which is white. The #7 he says only has one wire ?
He wants to know how to wire the #7 in and can he coil tap it and if so how ?

Hope this makes sense.

Without modding, you can not coil tap the #7. It's, by design, un-splittable. The only wire on the #7 is the hot which goes to the 3 way. That's it. Easy as pie.

And of course the braided shield, which goes to ground.

One would think, but when I worked in a music store, I had more guys bring in guitarrs that didn't work when they changed the pickups because they didn't ground the shield.

Hey, just askin... especially since 'Phil' is a happy camper...

There's some riddle to why PRS would put the #7's in the singlecut stop tails (and the heavier body) and the #6's in the singlecut trems (which I didn't know where coil tapped, but I like the idea);

Then, we have folks swapping 6's for 7's, ... just wondering aloud... Thanks...

...and brought the amp into the store asking why it no longer worked...
