Anyone know how large of a string guage PRSi can take?

McCarty tuners?
Phase I winged?
Phase II?

I'm trying out dropped B, and I need to figure out which strings and tuners to use.

Thanks.

well, it depends on the bridge, mostly. You can get up to at least 13s on there if you have an adjustable bridge. I dont know 100% about the winged tuners, but Id assume so. Collective soul uses very dropped tunings, and uses thick strings, and started doing it with PRS when the winged tuners were still around.

If you need heavier than that, I cant help you. I do know lots of surf guys get 16s tuned to standard E into any standard tuner, though, and I dont think PRS tuners would be any different. Those crazy surf cats.

Yeah, I don't need the higher strings to be that big. I know that 13's will fit.

I'm wondering if 60's will?

I'm using 14-60 on my McCarty without having to open up anything other than the nut.

Cool. I think I'll "hybrid" a set.

I don't want to have tiny strings up top (like a 10)

Maybe 12 - 60?
