Hi,
I have 2 PRS guitars wih dragon II pickups and 5 way rotary switch.
I'm not quite satisfied with the pickups and switch so i'm thinking of a pup replacement and go to mcCarthy electronics with 3 way switch and push/pull pot for single coil sounds.
I play different styles of music, but most are funk, soul, blues and classic rock.
I don't need high gain sounds that much.
I have tried a few PRS McCarthy's and like the way they sound and how the pup sound when they're split (I mostly use the second and 4th position on the rotary when playing clean, but I think that sound is too glassy and thin).
So I'm thinking of changing to mccarthty pickups and electronics.
What I need are vintage humbucking sounds, and nice warm and (still) full sounding split coil sounds.
Are the McCarthy pup's the right choice?
What pickups from other brands can i use?
Thanks
