Hi,

some days ago I asked here for Seymour Duncan suggestions on my CE-22.
I bought a Custom Custom on the bridge that I really love, you suggestions were for Alnico II for my needs..
A friend of mine has just bought a guitar with a Custom 5 on the bridge and an Alnico II pro on the neck.
I was still not sure about the neck, '59 vs APH, but after using his guitar I've just ordered an Alnico II pro for the neck of my PRS.

In his guitar he has many switches, two of them are really interesting, one splits coils and another one bypass all the electronic stuff, just the pick up straight to the output jack.
The Alnico II pro has a really good single coil like sound if splitted, so I'm thinking to get a 500k push/pull pot for replacing RS guitarworks tone (I'll keep the hovland cap of course).

Any suggestion on pot brand?
Short or long shaft?

And then I'm thinking about replacing the volume pot too with a push/pull in order to get the more powerful direct sound, just for solos or some harder rythms.
What do you think about it?
I'm a bit afraid that a dpdt pot will be not so good sounding like the one I have now.

I've found this (http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/2h_1v_1t_3w_2pp.html) wiring diagram on SD web site, is it the one I need? There is no explanation on what the pots do.

Last question. Here in Europe german nickel Schaller pickup covers are much easier to find than the SD branded and they should fit SDs. Are they good?

Thanks a lot.

I wouldn't put a push pull for the volume. They're fine for tone, but for volume the sweep isn't as good. I'd just make sure to put a good quality CTS500K pot.

For volume, I can personally recommend the RS Guitarworks Superpot. I love the taper. And they consistantly measure above 500K. I just installed one in my Custom 22.
