...so it might as well be on BAM!!
Here is the link : http://pierre-mont-royal.tripod.com (http://pierre-mont-royal.tripod.com/Philadelphia.mp3)
The first three are compositions and the others are covers (I am no Joe or Carlos but I work hard to come close!).
I would appreciate all feedback. Positive or negative but preferably constructive!! :)
Every thing was recorded on my laptop using Live, a SansAmp, a MicroVerb III and a DR5 rythm machine. The guitars used are my Custom 24 and a Godin Acousticaster.
Thanks in advance,
Pierre.
PS: Message edited to remove direct links to the MP3s and put the link to the site itself. Thanks Phil for pointing this out to me.

Hello Phil,
Thanks for trying, I should have tried the links in the preview mode of my message. Doh! :o
To download the MP3 you have to go to the site itself THEN click on the links:

Tripod does not allow to use direct hyperlink to file that are on their domain. I guess I should have read the small prints before setting up this site. ;)

Excellent Pierre!! Some class playing in there.... did you also programme the backing tracks yourself?? Space stuff in particular, love the backing to that.
All round nice tones and good playing... but you didn't think you'd get off that easily did you?? What equipment for each tune??? Come on, spill the beans! :D
Good stuff indeed!

Quinny,
Thanks a lot for your nice words. It means a lot to me. :)
Regarding the backing tracks, I've got to confess that for "Space stuff" I used some of the samples that came with Live (Delta Version) I got with the M-Audio interface I bought. I basically put together the backing tracks using what was available (drum box, bass line, strange noises, etc...). :o I am much more rock oriented than Techno oriented but I enjoyed a lot to jam on those modern beats.
For the other MP3s where you hear anything else than guitars it comes from my trusty old DR-5 rythm machine. "Philadelphia" was played using a preset pattern that I tweaked a little for example.
On "Grand Frère" it's all guitars, so I take credit for every thing (mistakes included!!!). ;) I used my Godin Acousticaster on this one for the rythm guitar.
As I said in my first post, I used my Custom 24 on all the electric guitar parts through my Sans Amp preamp (I recorded those tracks before I bought my PodXT) through a basic Microverb III Alesis reverb (with various settings: delay, reverb, etc...) then straight to the M-Audio interface before hitting my laptop running Live.
The Sans-Amp is a very low-tech unit that can give access to an incredible variety of sounds if you take the time to tweak the differetn controls.
Here is the Sans Amp on the left (I don't use the ToneWorks anymore since I bought my XT which sounds waaaaaaaaaaay better):

Again, thanks for taking the time to download my stuff and listen to it.
Pierre.
PS: do you happen to have some MP3s I could download to hear you play on your sexy Santana??
Good stuff Pierre!
You have some really nice tones and some great playing too!
One day I'll get brave and post something of mine!
Well done...
San.

Thanks for the nice comment, San.
Since I hosted those MP3s on Tripod I discovered Soundclick that is used by other people on this forum, it is very easy to use and you get unlimited space to upload your MP3s, so what here is the link now: Soundclick Pierre (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/pierremontroyalmusic.htm)
Let us know when you post something, you'll see it is not that hard and always helpful to virtually get up and play in front of your peers.
After all we are all good guys trying to get a "nice" note or tow out of our guitars! :)
Pierre.
