I want a pedal that I can hit right before I go into a solo that will give me very droned strange noises (think "vrooommm)...almost like a whammy4. Something that creates anticipation (sp?) before I hit some major pent bends. Any Ideas?

good call. I've read some reviews on those, and that does sound like what I'm looking for. Anyone selling one?

Hmm...the FF and FP are really really expensive...esp since I only need them for drone noises...any other ideas?

It depends on what you mean, precisely, by "drone noises" - but for strange noises I would recommend 4ms pedals - www.4mspedals.com - and something like the Atoner or Noise Swash. The Noise Swash make the Fuzz Factory seem like your grandma's fuzz box, boring and utterly predictable by comparison. (However, I really like the FF! Don't get me wrong.)
4ms stuff isn't cheap, either, but you can download the schematics and build them yourself, if you like!

Danelectro makes a pedal called the Sitar Swami that might - or might not - be what you're looking for. Haven't tried it myself. Reviews on Harmony Central are all over the place.
