Just spent 6 hours in my car driving to southern AZ and back. I had a Sirius satellite radio installed last week and was anxious to put it through its' paces.
Verdict: I may NEVER use my regular radio and CD player again. I haven't heard so much good music in so short a time period since the all-day concerts at Red Rocks, Colorado, in my youth. Folk, Classic Rock, R&B, the works...! Anybody else out there using Sirius or XM? What do you think???

I have had XM Radio for about a year and have not listened to regular radio since. The best gizmo for the money. :D
Pardon my utter ignorance, but are there commercials?

Nope. XM Radio had them until February of this year. They are now commercial free. Sirius has always been commercial free.

Delphi is the largest auto parts supplier in the world and I heard today they have shipped two million units in the last 15 months. They do mostly General Motors, so I'm assuming it's mostly XM stuff. I understand this technology rollout is faster than anything else to date - faster than cable TV, internet, TIVO, etc....

the deck in my car is XM adaptable, but i've never considered getting a subscription. I always thought it was rather useless to me (as i only listen to CD's), however now i'd be willing to give it a try.
Errrrr....eh....what was that about a subscription?
Nobody said nothing 'bout no subscription. I was just about sold.

$9.99 a month for XM. The best $10 a month you will ever spend. That does not include all of the new CDs you will buy once you hear some great new music!

No question, the best $12/mo I'll ever spend. Sports, news, talk, and, oh did I mention great music??

If I ever went somewhere there was no NPR, I'd be very eager to drop the bucks.

XM-MMM-MMM-good. No more wondering what the great song you're hearing is, either. You WILL buy more CD's after being exposed.

That is the question. On, and what brand add-on hardware to buy.

Just installed an XM radio unit in my car over the weekend. Great audio quality and an awesome selection of stations. Literally something for everyone. Best ten bucks a month you could spend....IMHO.

I have a great big honkin' in-dash 6-disc changer in my Ford; if I replaced it with an XM-compatible unit, what is out there that has the in-dash changer? I don't think I'd want additional aftermarket stuff screwed to my dash. I like the one Delphi(?) system that has all the displays (track list, etc.). Are there any in-dash units that have that?
Any recommendations (or good websites with various models?)
