My apologies to the BaMers who do not live in the USA, if you do not live in the USA, this thread will BORE you to tears.

This is not a partisan thread!!!!!!!!

I really am not trying to start a political discussion, that would be bad however, I have an horrible feeling that will not go away. I was always one who believed in participating in government. I believed in voting. I believed it was

important to be part of the whole process.....I just do not believe it any more.

It is not a Republican or Democratic thing......it is an I believe they are all liars thing. I believe PACs and lobbyists hold all the power. I believe politicians will do and say anything to stay in their position. I believe politicians are all just lining their pockets.

Where I once saw healthy debates, I know see unhealthy fighting. Where I once saw unity, I now see divisiveness. One party is to far to the right and the other is to far to the left and I feel like I am stuck in the middle.

Hey if you are hardcore Republican or hardcore Democrat, God bless you, we live in a country where that is your right and I am glad you feel like you do, isn’t living in America GREAT!!!! I just feel like we could do better than the choices we have. What is the solution? I really wish we had a third party that was somewhere in the middle of right and left. It is difficult to find yourself agreeing and disagreeing with both parties.

The November elections are coming up and I will go vote. The funny thing is, the only reason I am motivated to go vote is because locally they are trying to close a section of beach to traffic and I am going to vote against that. Otherwise I could careless about the “People” who are running. They are all just pushing a divisive message, and it is sad. Instead of being positive, everything negative. I really am tired of the whole thing.

Does ANYONE feel the same agony?

Is everyone happy with their party?

i was thinking about this yesterday when i was stuck in traffic

i was wondering what the structural elements of our constitution are that keep the 2 party system in tact ... i can not remember a single thing in the constitution iteself that calls out parties by name or even implies them .. so i guess the impediments to a multi party system are based in the rules of congress (like committee establishment, rules of leadership, etc) ... i got to wondering what it would be like if each of the two parties could shed itself of its extreme wings ... could a centrist party emerge (or more than 1 centrist party) that could govern effectively? .. or would there be weird 'deal with the devils' coalitions formed ...

i am way more happy with my party despite its problems than i could ever be with the other party ... but i am not so happy that i would be against some change that would be much better than the curent shape of things

NOT a subject for BaM.

Partisan or NOT it's political and against the rules. There's other forums for this discussion.
