Last fall I drove from central Florida up to Cary, NC to buy a Grosh from the good folks at Fat Sound. The guitar is stellar, but that's a different thread. While deciding which Grosh to actually buy, one of the amps I played through was a Germino Masonette 25 watt. What an awesome tone, it really knocked my socks off, and I kept going back to it, saying, "Let me hear this through that amp again." At the time, I'd never even heard of the brand. Well, Greg Germino has really got the vintage Marshall vibe dialed! If I could have pulled it off financially, I would have gone home with both the Grosh and the Germino.
Ever since then, I haven't been able to get that thing off my mind. I've been talking, wishing, dreaming, and schemeing about it, and immediately began saving money from gigs and lessons, to buy a Germino of my very own.
Christmas has passed, it's nowhere near my birthday, and my anniversary is not for another two months. However, last night my wife springs a present on me: You guessed it; that afternoon she had called Fat Sound and ordered me a Masonette!! To say I'm supremely stoked would be the understatement of the year. I was so excited I could hardly sleep! I say that women gets my vote for wife of the year. She turns 40 this fall, and I'm here to tell you, she can name her gift!
