Hey All,
I just picked one of these up and had to share it with you! It's the new Lian-Li PC/V1000 http://www.lian-li.com/products/pcv1000.htm
I've always built my own PCs including for DAW use. One of the problems that always exists is the ambient noise produced by fans. I had been using the wonderfully constructed Cooler Master ATCS 201 for the last 3 years and decided it was time for it to be retired. the 5 80mm fans started getting to me, even though they were high quality/Ultra quiet "Sanyo Denkis."
This case takes a great step in cutting down noise without doing water cooling etc...Notice the component placement, fans, and internal "walls" (and the obvious look of the MAC G5)...This case is *Much* quieter. I went for the black version rather than the brushed aluminum. My CoolMaster was Aluminum and I needed a change. ;)
The overall build quality is a little shy of the CoolerMaster. But the CM was made out of 2mm machined billet aluminum with heat pressed ferrels, and that's a little hard to top. But the overall design on the Lian-Li is *much* better. The HDD's are isolated (via an aluminum wall) on the bottom with 1 120mm fan blowing on it, the case has 1 120mm fan in the rear with a cowling over it on the exterior to dampen noise. Overall I'm pleased as punch with this thing!
