Anyone know what kind of magnet is used and what the DC resistance is on these?

What aftermarket pickup (say Duncan for example) do you think the D2 are closest to?

the bridge pup is around 12 k and uses an alnico mag........the neck is around 8k and uses alnico as well........the duncan '59 would work for the neck but duncan doesn't make anything close to the bridge pup

I don't know. I'm kinda feeling like it's close to a covered JB lately.

that's strange cuz I don't like the jb with or without a cover........but I do like the dragon 2....I think a custom 5 would be closer or a sreamin' demon

Maybe, I've not tried a C5. I guess I'm hearing something similiar in the way it approaches the high mids. I actually am not fond of the JB, but I DO like the DII, could be the guitar too. I would wager the DII is likely an AlNiCo 5 magnet though too.

I am looking into getting a Custom 22 and those D IIs seem hotter than the stock Burstbucker Pros in my LP Standard.
