How does one go about tightening the trem-arm on a floyd rose [liscensed]? Mine is lose and I'm not able to get what I want from it.

When I had one, I would use a wrench on the top of the guitar (can't remember what size) and hold the bottom of the trem screw with needle-nose pliers (underneath the guitar).
Hope this helps...
The ORIGINAL Floyd, meaning the ones I played in the early 1980's, had a nut on top and a nut underneath the bridge, you have to hold a wrench on one, and tighten the other with another wrench (same size).
The ones they sell now (they call them original) come with that thumb-type knurled screw on top, I really don't know how to tighten that up. By my experience, you can tighten that nut as much as your thumb/fingers will allow. Take the arm, and bend it down (dive) as much as you can, you'll be able to see how it works from underneath.

Who made your Floyd? Was it Kahler? Ibanez? The adjuster for trem arm stiffness can vary based on the manufacturer.
