Check the FAQ. Birds and Moons is a reference to standard inlays on PRS guitars. This site does cater to all guitar players, but specializes in PRS and the good folks that love them.

I think TGP has a different feel to it. Also, among other things, it seems a much larger variety of items show up in the Emporium on TGP.

Birds and Moons refers to the two neck inlay options of PRS Guitars. :)

Nothing to do with guilds or fighting orcs. :p

Cos if PRSi came with Butterfly, Rainbow, or Unicorn inlays, I doubt too many people would buy em.

Well, I'll bet they could - if they wanted to. :D Actually, not so much. The bird inlays are a registered trademark.

Yeah, someone did do it once...

All I remember is that the end one is an owl.

You must have a 24 fret then.....

The Birds are, starting from the nut:

Peregrine falcon
Marsh hawk
Ruby throated hummingbird
Common tern
Coopers hawk
Kite
Sparrow landing
Storm petrel
Hawk landing
Screech owl on a branch (24-fret models only)

I always thought that one of them looked like a Pig scuttling along - I can't remember which one.....

I'm a Dot's man, er, except Chapins then Dots and Specs, oh and Gibsons Crowns or Blocks or Parallel lines.....OK what I mean is I don't like all the fancy "Tree of life" stuff or "Dragons" and things....

Best, Pete.

Is it ok to be here? I don't own a bird or a moon.:)No birds & moons, huh....if you position your fingers a certain way, you could show someone your "bird" at any time. And, the next time you step into a shower, look behind you....and you'll discover that a "moon" always follows you around ;).

When I was shopping around in a guitar store before I bought my PRS, my girlfriend, upon seeing the bird inlays commented, "oh my, those are hideous".

Then I had to explain to her that they were cool.

So when my PRS finally showed up and she saw me bring in the new case she asked, "what is that?"

"One of them Bird guitars"

She sort of rolled her eyes.

Chicks, man. Cant live with 'em...
