Tele Deluxe or Custom? Thoughts?

I am looking for opinions/thoughts on the 72 reissue tele custom (with 1 HB and 1 single coil) vs the reissue tele deluxe (with 2 HBs). I have an American tele ash, and I have a LP classic, and am looking for something in between. What do you think? Also thought about the 72 thinline like Coldplay. Thanks for helping me out.

I would go with the custom... that classic Tele sound on the bridge pickup is what Teles are all about. Admittedly I'm a little more partial to Keef than Coldplay...just stay out of the palm trees. ;)

I like the old WR humbuckers, but the RI's are different, darker. They don't have nearly the snap or response as the originals. Go for the one with a S/C in the bridge, you can always replace the nck pickup if you feel the need, but the bridge pickup (HB) will let you down in a live gigging situation. I've had both (not reissues) and the Custom is much more versatile.

I had a tele deluxe and sold it. It was a flawless guitar but the noisless pickups sounded a bit hi-fi to me. No real tele twang in mine. The neck and frets were very nice though...
