Hi all,

Opinions? My Rocktron Intellifex (probably 10 yrs old at least) is doing something weird. It dosen't seem to be the cables, either. When I play the clean channel on my marshall head, the effects seem to come through fine. When I switch to either of the other 2 dirty channels, it dies. Not completely, but on clean I may clip the red, on dirty the effect level is barely registering. I haven't found a seperate gain control for the seperate channels. Any thoughts?

Hey Jaycee, I have the intellifex as well. As long as you have the input and output levels the same when changing from clean to dirty, it shouldn't do that. There is no 'secret' other level adjustment anywhere on the unit within one patch.

The ONLY thing that will cause that is if your dirty channel isn't as loud or giving as strong a signal as your clean, you'll see a difference on the L.E.D.'s. This is common, whenever I fiddle with my guitar volumes before a gig, EVERY SINGLE TIME, I set the dirty not loud enough, because it SEEMS to be loud when I'm fiddling by myself. I'll play clean and be at a good volume, when I switch to dirty, it's not loud enough. That's a perception issue because those two sounds have different timbres.

In short, you're not doing anything wrong, just turn your dirty channel up or turn your clean down, or don't worry about the L.E.D.'s, mine are never right on the money, but the FX sound fine.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I don't understand what the heck is going on with this thing. Believe me, my dirty signal is loud enough!:D I've had this thing for about 10 yrs., and never had a problem like this. I think it's time to get out the credit card...AGAIN!!!!
