18 watt amps

Has anyone built one?? Are kits available or do you have to buy from the schematics? This might be over my head but I do want to look into it a bit.

I haven't built a Marsh kit, but I want to.

I had so much fun with the Allen Old Flame kit, I don't know why I have not bought another kit from him. The instructions were excellent, with very good diagrams and illustrations. I had never done anything as complex as building a whole amp before (I have pretty much limited my self to swapping pickups!), but it really was a great experience from start to finish. Plus I got a GREAT sounding amp. It was my main gigging amp for over a year. Plus the guy (Dave Allen) answers his phone if you have questions.

There are others out there - these just were the first ones I thought of.

Everyone seems to be into the Fender clones. I emailed David Allen about the one plexi circuit model. He's down to his last combo and won't be making any more for a while.

I have fenders and they are fine at lower volumes. Its the Plexi I want at something less than ear bleed levels.

Sometimes he will put a kit on ebay - that is how I discovered him.
