Ditto, it's a 3 note per string version of F major with the root on the first string, first finger. It's usually the first 3-note pattern most people learn.

The pattern seems reminiscent of the "nashville" pattern for guitar.

If you could write the example as notes, not tab, it would be a lot easier for me and many others. You might also have more easily answered the question yourself.

Yeah, I believe that is the nashville pattern for a major scale on guitar:cool:

I picked my guitar up and played it and thought "doesn't sound like a major scale to me".......... then remembered I'd dropped the E to a D...... Doh!:o
