hahaha having what millions will be having...TURKEY!!! with all that can go with it. .....and the same for the rest of the week....turkey casserole, turkey sandwiches, Curried turkey, Turkey soup.....

So, anyone having anything different?

My Mum and Dad are with us to-day, but they have a Goose for tomorrow.

Last year my mum shouted to my dad where he was up to getting it ready.
He shouted back 'Well it's out the fridge, I've plucked it and stuffed it......All I got to do now is KILL IT!!!' hahaha

ALL THE BEST EVERYONE!!!!!

Now where's the salt.......

Roast beef, and Turkey done a little differently than normal. We brine ours for two days beforehand so it has plenty of moisture, then we cook it upside down so all of the juice goes into the breast meat instead of draining out of it.

Merry Christmas!!!

Just back from my daughter's house were my son-in-law cooked turkey dinner for 8. Joined by son-in-law's mother and my son. Not a bad cook, far better than I could ever be.

Only mistake he made was not cooking the salmon for my son, who is a vegetarian. So we had to wait for another 20 mins.

Bit hectic in the house with 6 adults, 2 grand-children, 3 dogs & 2 cats, so glad to be back in my own house now

Just woke up from my Christmas dinner - three hours later. It just does me in. Free range turkey, sprouts, carrots, stuffing on the side.

You never know, I might get a goose later:D

Well it's early here in California. Just finished our traditional (to our family) christmas morning brunch of Eggs, Linguica, Bacon, and hash browns.

I'm sure I'll have to injecct some water into my veins later to counter act all that!

We had a morning breakfast of a sausage/bacon casserole, home fries, and toast. Tonight we will have our family traditional pot roast, potatoes, carrots followed by a piece of home made carrot cake.

We had our traditional (about 10 years) Christmas breakfast: eggs baked with bacon, chili sauce & stuff on pineapple slice, and coffee cake. And champagne.
Soon it will be time for julefrokost, the ultimate in Danish lunches, or smørrebrød or as you might know it from the Swedish, "smorgasbord". Various kinds of herring, shrimp, fried mussels, cod roe, sausage, a whole bunch of other thigns I can't remember, plus lots of beer and snaps.
Looks something like this, although this is a Summer lunch:

We enjoyed a Christmas Dinner of Evans Head prawns, Georges River oysters, smoked salmon and some cold salads. Normally do the hot lunch, but this year we did it a little differently.

Was that one of free range Kelly Bronze Turkeys from near Towcester? Yum Yum.

I cooked, yeah, that's right, a prime rib with golden roasted potatoes, and julienned candied carrots for dinner. Always good to have some cooking skills.

Cocktail shrimp and sauce with Cabot Extra Sharp cheese and red delicious apples for supper.

I'll be working off the added poundage today, for sure.

'twas my first christmas spent with GF and her parents/family. Although her mother planned the menu and shopped, she's 76 and not able to stand in the kitchen cooking all day. So GF and I did all the prep and cooking. Spent all afternoon Sat doing most of the work.

brunch: breakfast casserole (bread, eggs/milk/etc, cheese, smoked sausage), baked apples, mimosas

dinner: standing rib roast (prime rib) w/ mushroom gravy, spinach timbales (or some such name), twice-stuffed potatoes, plum tarts (secret family recipe, apparently), ambrosia

I had my wisdom teeth out last week, so I had the misfortune of missing out on every festive holiday meal this Christmas break. That's including three days at my grandmothers (and you know how good their cooking is)...
