I saw that advertised in GW this month. Cool!!!!! The Weapon.. I like that name.

A wee bit pricey tho' eh or are Digitech pedals normally in the price range?
Does that mean he's not going to be using the Metal Master (?) anymore?

Single Digitech pedals are usually 80 and below, the amp/effect modelers are usually more. I guess since its a limited edition the price was driven up. Also, its not JUST a distortion pedal, it has other effects that probably affect the price. I would think that he would still use the metal master for writing new things, but this pedal is probably really helpful to him.

Just ordered it, really excited about getting it. It made me $25 in debt to my parents, and it won't come till thurs/friday, but I think it will be worth the wait.

I ordered one of those too. Since I use Kepur straps and I'm getting a Singlecut. I figure It would make me look like an even bigger poser.

j/k

Actually the choice of FX to choose from sound pretty damn cool.

Well I hate to say it, but its not living up to standards. One, it was $155 shipped. Thats a big chunk out of my wallet, considering I'm an unemployed teenager without an allowance. Second, the tone isn't as advertised. At least for me its not. It is close, but its not close enough for me to jusitfy its price. I have found an amp setting on my amp that I like without the pedal. I already have a modeling pedal, and it cost a LOT less. I think they sell for 60-70 bucks, and have many more effects and its got a drum kit, amp modeling and such. If you have the same amp as Dan and a Singlecut, I'm sure you will have a lot more success getting the sound you want. I'm just not happy with what I am hearing. Not happy enough to justify the price. The pedal itself looks really cool, and it has some nice accessories [the disturbed pick is so cool, I wish I could keep it!]

If you are interested, check Music123.com in two weeks and you can buy mine, I'm sending it back. I'm dissapointed, it looked to be very promising.

Aaah that sucks... really? What exactly did you not like about it? Was it just muddy, or could you not get that Disturbed sound?

How did the sitar sim sound? Autowah?

Shame!

Personally, so far, I like it. The "Voices" setting is cool. The last setting is a cool "Lo-Fi" sound heavy distortion. I've already spent several hours with the pedal since I got it today. I still need to spend more time with the whammy and auto wah settings. The Sitar sound needs to go into a clean amp.

I think this pedal is for those like me who don't like regular mutli-FX and modellers. I don't mind it. It just needs time to play with.

I don't think the thing as anything to do with the amp or the guitar. I've got a crappy 40 watt Peavey and a Vintage Marshall head and can get close tones, and I'm using a semi-hollow Hamer for now (still a few weeks till I get my SC.)

I've spent alot more on alot less when it comes to pedals. I'm probably gonna sell my RPx400 soon. As I'm not gonna get any use out of that thing. I'm also selling my vintage Boss OD-1 and PH-1r. As this and my Maxon OD-808 are all the pedals I need.

I'll chime in and say I grabbed one and returned it within 24 hours.

The Good.

It's a limited edition and comes with an optional wallwart, Dan Donegan pick, case and good settings manual.

The Sitar emulation is pretty useful.

The Bad.

It does not work well with amps. It's really noisy and the louder you play, both the differences in tone modes becomes less ditinguishable and it loses fullness. I felt it got *really* thin sounding at anything louder than conversation levels....to the point that I had no desire to use it.

Also, it's a single stomp that requires you to use the knobs to change voicings and tones. Nothing is preset switchable or customizible to a "preset". I was really disappointed in Digitech and disappointed for Dan to put his name on something like this. It is very cliche to accuse somebody of "selling out", but in this case it wasn't even a good product that is specifically capitalizing on Disturbed songs.

Out of five stars, I'd give it 1 1/2.

I returned it and ponied up the difference for a Rocktron Xpression. Yes, it was a big difference in price and not a distortion pedal by any means, but it is a more fitting complement for the gear I currently use...namely the Uberschall.

the autowah and sitar settings were cool, but I already have those and more for a lot cheaper. The Voices setting was cool, but I could never get the distortion to come in loud enough. At full distortion, it was maybe half the volume of another setting.

I'll agree with Phil, As it gets louder, it sounds worse. And it also doesn't sound at all like Dan. I'm dissapointed in the pedal.

And I'm sending it back to Music123.com this weekend. I won't regret it.

I still need to work with it at greater volumes, but so far at 2 on a 40 watt amp it's fine. I feel the experiment phase takes alot more than a day. Right now, I won't have the opportunity to spend more than 4 or 5 hours with it for more than 3 weeks.

As of right now, it's still a keeper to me.
