The piezo for the hi E string stopped working on my Archtop. The rest of the strings work fine. I've heard of this happening before.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Do I have to take or send it somewhere?
Thanks,
Betos

Call your dealer. This is covered by the warranty of course.
99% of the time, the saddle for that string needs to be changed. It happens.
If you guitar is not under warranty (ie if you bought it used), then you need to
get a saddle ordered and hook it back up - I assume it requires a solder.

I had to send my HBII in for piezo repair... Guitar played better when I got it then when I sent it in! But I was told that Orkie himself worked on it and set it up.
Peace,

Thanks for the responses.
Aldwyn, Where did you send yours in to?
Thx again,

I took it back to Chuck Levin's where I bought it, and they sent it in for me.
Another repair I had done on the bridge of my CU22, I got an RA# from the dealer I bought it from, then sent it directly to PRS using the RA. PRS sent it directly back to me.
Peace,
Aldwyn

Betos, forgive me if you already knew this, but behind the battery in the battery compartment is a circuit board that has 6 very tiny philips head screws that adjust the volume for each individual string. I had a similar problem with the high E string on my hollowbody and Jim Cullen at PRS told me to turn the high E string screw a bit and it worked for me. Also, he said a little bit of contact (sp?) cleaner from radio shack might work as well just to clean the connection a bit. Since both of these things are very easy to do yourself, you might want to give it a shot before taking your guitar in for repair. Hope this info helps and sorry if this has already been covered.

Wally,
That's the kind of tip I was hoping for. Didn't buy the guitar from a dealer, so it's not really waranteed. Did buy it from a forumite, and the guitar worked fine, so no complaints or gripes there.
Now, if work would just slow down a minute so I could try that tip out, I'll let you know how it works out.
Thanks,
Betos
