As much as I hate to do it, I've had to thin the herd to pay off my new book project. Here is my awesome Tom Anderson Hollow Cobra in a magnificent and very rare translucent plum quilt top. I've tried to take as many pics of it as I can, but this top is really hard to believe. It's got a very deep and rich quilt ... very striking.

"Rachel" was born 3-11-00A and features the X-Bridge piezo system -- very similar to what you'd find on a HBII w/piezo, i.e. you can choose acoustic, electric, or a varied blend of the two with a twist of the knob. Very nice acoustic sounds with the semi-hollow body. The semi-hollow feature also makes her very light and comfortable. If you haven't played a guitar with the Buzz Feinten tuning system it is quite amazing as well -- stays in tune throughout the neck like no other. The pickups are great and offer a 5-way switch with a tone pull switch option that splits the middle position as well. There are just so many great tones you can get out of this guitar -- from deep and jazzy to serious blues burn!

I have never gigged the guitar and it has been kept in its case in a smoke free, temperature controlled home. There are no flaws on the guitar. It looks and sounds absolutely pristine. Very little playing time. The case has a few tiny nicks on the outside only (see pics). I've swapped out the strap buttons for Dunlop Straplocks, but if you'd prefer the originals I'll swap them back. I'm also including an unused stereo Y-Cable that Tom Anderson himself recommended I try with it (still unopened, I must admit). I took this guitar by the Anderson factory and had them give it the once over and they were all compliments. It's really a fine guitar and I hate to part with it.

I am a long time member of the old PRS Forum and a university professor. Plenty of references. Sorry, no trades ... I need to raise cash. Original list price was $3010 -- I'm selling for $1700 + shipping. Please email with any questions.

That's gorgeous.
As a longtime Hollow Cobra fan, I just want to tell anyone interested that this'd be a fantastic guitar to own.
Did I mention how good the split coil sounds are?

Which pups are in the guitar? And what's the neck width/carve

Jamie, edging ever closer...

Hey Jamie ... here are the stats:

Hollow Cobra
Translucent Plum with Binding
Quilted Maple Top on Mahogany
Mahogany Neck
Madagascar Rosewood Fretboard
Matching Headstock, Satin Back
1 11/16 in Nut
Heavy Frets
Gold Hardware
Non-Tremolo X-Bridge
Pickups: HO1- H2+

The neckshape, I believe, is a '62 roundback (my personal TA favorite). I compared it to my TA classic with that and it felt identical to my hands. Wonderful feel!

No, I'm not in the market for any more electric guitars, just haven't seen you around for a while, Kip, so thought I'd say hi. :)
