I had turkey, swiss on rye.

My topic: if you had one person alive or dead to thank, who would it be? I say no relatives allowed, otherwise it's too easy. And remember, no religion.

Mine, I suppose, will be Baron Karl Drais von Sauerbronn who, the internet tells me, invented the bicycle (although his had no pedals). Ok, whoever invented the bike, that's who I'd like to thank.

I think the bike is the pinnacle of man's mechanical achievements so far. They're fun, they're pretty (yes, JR!), they're incredibly practical and more energy efficient than walking and they could save the planet.

Not sure what I had today, it was a selction of meats and salad.

The person, I would most like to thank, unfortunately hasn't got a name. But he would be the person who rolled a rock down a hill and realised that he could make something, that in the future, would propel humans wherever they wanted to go.

It's the chap, or chapess, who invented the wheel that allowed bikes and vehicles to come into existence and make our life easier, IMO.

I had a small portion of eggs and some simple thin ham. Generally, I don't care for the thin sliced meat, but it was pretty good. I also had a tiny bit of a poppy seed muffin. Just not that terribly hungry.

Too good a question, as to the thank you routine, since I won't necessarly pull a cop out and say "Paul Reed Smith." ;)

-----------

a winkie was harmed during this post. Sometimes you have to break an egg to make one of those egg concoctions I cannot spell.

Cheese topped chicken baps

Non relative I would say my best and life long friend who has been there for me through thick and thin. We learnt guitar together, we've done so many things over the years, he's so reliable and has advice when I need it - always.

Good question John.
