I guess it's whoever gets in first now since the sign up list is not being used...

I had a Chicken sandwich with extra mayo, chips and a diet soda.

Here's my question. How do you guys determine tips for things other than a sit down restaurant. For instance, if you have pizza delivered, do you tip a flat rate regardless of how many pies, or do you give a certain amount per pie.

Also, what about valet parking? Or do you even tip when you pick up food from the carry out section?

What about people who do other services like come clean your house or reseal your driveway?

Tuna sandwiches today.

Interesting you call a pizza a pie:D LOL !

I think this is a very good point. You like to tip for good service, but what about the poor people who work at other things for a living - like me where tipping is not the done thing - I've never had one! I hate the fact that the wages are purposely low knowing - or presuming that the person will make some of the shortfall up in tips and kind of encourage them to give good service - who's the real winner - the restraunt owner who's already loaded.

I like to give tips personally straight to the person wherever possible ..but say in a restraunt ..who slaved over a hot stove to cook it for you - does he get the tip - nah!:( I prefer to give tips to people I see are not so fortunate - the people that don't normally get a tip, but deserve one as well as people who aren't so well off- but are giving the job their all and you have bought that product or service. Sometimes I'm a bit short and it's just manageable to go out for a meal for a treat - then sometimes I don't give a tip at all ..if I have it and I'm ok, then I do. It should be down to the discression of the person and never presumed or expected that you are going to tip.

Went to Firehouse Subs for a roast beef sub. Yum.

The whole pizza being called a "pie" is a northern thing. Particularly the northeast I believe. Depending on where you say that in the south, people will have no clue what you're talking about.

I usually tip the pizza guy pretty well because I was too lazy to get off my ass and go pick up the pizza. He's doing me a big favor. Plus I know that delivering pizzas is an awful job.

For me, getting to-go depends on what they have to do. At some places, you don't even have to get out of the car. I usually give them a buck or two for the effort. But if all they have to do is go behind the counter and hand me a bag, I don't tip.

I usually tip valets a couple bucks. Considering valet parking around here is usually about $5, that's a good tip.

I tip hairstylists like restaurant servers. Usually about 15-20% if they do a good job.

I had Taco's!!

Valet? NEVER LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR. Plain and simple. I would never let a valet touch my cars. That also means you don't have to tip them too.

Dinner bill? I double the tax charged to the bill. So in other words if the tax is a $1.50 then I tip the waiter/waitress $3.00.

Pizza man? I usually always order the same amount of pizza therefore I always tip ~$3.00.

Driveway reseal?? If it wasn't done right the first time why tip them for redoing it?? (I guess that would depend on the age of your house/driveway!)

House cleaning crew? Yes we usually leave them a tip of some sort, I think its like $10 for a $45 bill....LOL...that sounds really high, but hey they are some cool girls!

If someone is really good at what they are doing for you and is extremely polite then why not give them a tip? After all if they go out of their way to please you or at least try to please you then they deserve it.

OH YEAH AND MOST IMPORTANT!!: I have been known to tip my GUITAR SALESMAN!!! They really appreciate it!!:D
