any body using this combination for recording. I can't get this thing working. Also the maudio is not working with the gtguitar express that came with it. I've used it on my PC laptop and it works ok, but the recordings are not great with the gtguitar express. I want to get it working with my mac and garageband. Any help would be appreciated.

i use garageband by connecting my sm57 into my pod 2.0 (the preamp setting) and then straight into the mac mic input.
it always takes a bit of fiddling in garageband before i can here the sound... but i've only tried it twice since getting my G5 imac. (i'll have another fiddle, and this time i'll keep more of a track of what i'm doing)
sorry if that's no help to you.

I had the Fast Track and sold it. The Fast Track does not send a decent signal level to the computer and nothing I did would resolve the problem. It's marketed as a device that is perfect for plugging a guitar directly into the unit, but that just does not work. Also the GT Express software that came with it is useless since you cannot stream it into your recording software.
I went back to the MobilePre (never should have sold my first one) and I have never been happier. I just run my SansAmp GT2 into the MobilePre when I need to record direct. But it also has a mic preamp so when I am ready I can record live guitar.

Make sure both Garageband and the OS are set to have sound input from your mAudio device.
In Garageband:
click Garageband(menu)->Preferences->Audio/Midi and set the input to your device. It, the device, should be plugged in before launching GB.
In the OS:
Open finder, click Applications and then SYstem Preferences. Choose the "Sound" item and the "Input" tab. You should be good to go from there.
These operations are very common because the OS will go back to defaults when you unplug the device and the system is re-booted.

Thanks pudge and lunatic. I guess I'll try something else. The one recording I did make with it with my PC laptop was not great. I will check out the mobilepre!
