View Full Version : So, where would a newbie most likely stay?

Lets say there is a PRS player that discovers both boards (PRSFORUMS and Birds and Moons). This person has a lot to contribute, not a troll, would be an asset to either community. Which do you think he/she will subscribe to? Its seems that the civility that made this forum (and its predecessor) famous is slipping away. Posting over legitimate threads, taking shots at other forums, that is not what I've grown accustomed to here. Our fictional new person would review some of the posts here and think we are a closed group that does not accept outsiders. So off to PRSFORUMS.com they go. Why can't both exist and everyone bury the hatchet. Don't make us choose. Think about it.

Excellent advice. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go back and edit a snarky post I just made in the interests of "letting it go" and creating a "kinder, gentler" environment for nuBs.

I think we should sweeten the deal for newbies, to show them our appreciation. To help them feel at home, I am offering a free set-up on their PRS. All they have to do is send me their guitar, I'll set the thing up, and they will get it back in a year or two. Any takers?;)

Good point, Ric. I agree with most of what you're saying.
However, in our defense, I don't think we're that hostile to newbies.
Only to the ones that pops up and hit the ground running with (personal or not) attacks.
Any newbie that signs up and talks guitars, or anything else for that matter, will be greeted with the same class we always demonstrated.
Speaking for myself, I have buried the hatchet, and am ready to talk about guitars!

As one of the people who has gotten comfortable on the other side, I DO hope that the two sides can co-exist.
I like both boards and plan to hang out both places.

I'll make an exception for you. Also if you want me to test out any of your amps, ya know, make sure they still work and all, I'd be happy to do that as well. Although that is usually a much longer process.:D
